Searching Me...

Sadly and frankly, I'm uncertain of who am I and what will I be in future...
But for sure, I would like my designs/work to be as functional and sustainable as possible.

Being an ex-physiotherapist, I hope that someday, I can merge it with graphic design to do some good.
If not, at least to be in the health care graphic design field but not the commercial type, instead, more towards patient care and education.

So,
Plan A:
To work in a design studio after graduation for experience and exposure for 5 years, if possible, go straight to one that concentrates on health care graphic design.
** How well developed is this sub-field in Malaysia? Are there such design firms in Malaysia? Do I need to go overseas?

At the same time, to approach/volunteer in health care institutes/NGOs, to identify, later to propose design solutions for their problems, especially on medical professional-patient communication.
** How well is the acceptance of health care graphic design in Malaysia? (I also need to consider about the Malaysian health care bureaucracy system)
There is high chance that I need to keep my existing job and make this as an external project to survive.

Plan B
To further my studies in graphic design and try to collaborate with some medical learning institute to

research about effective communication between medical professionals, patients and carers
** This might be an easier way to get into the health care industry as it goes through a more formal process; support from the involved parties would be more concrete too.
Problem is, MONEY!!!

In any case, I need to start building up my portfolio which covers health care topics from now.

Side thoughts
1. To publish a book about Malaysian Paralympic athletes (photography base)
2. To produce handmade crafts for sale on a regular basis

A discussion with my lecturer...
- I'm quite a task-oriented person
- I would like to publish a book about incontinence and pelvic floor muscle to educate the public about this common but least discussed topic
